Mark Louis Francisco

As an intern, it's essential to consistently practice responsibility and reliability, which contributes to a positive outcome in my daily work and responsibilities.

Hi, everyone! I am Mark, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management student from the National University. Join me as I take you into my exciting life as an intern at Emerson. Let's get going, life starts early in this return-to-office journey. Let's Go!

6.00 AM

The time my day as an intern begins. Before anything else, I always take a moment to pet our dog. Everyone, meet 'Snow'; she enjoys lounging on our bed.

.

Having a pet in the house is wonderful; it helps alleviate stress and provides you with a companion.

6.30 AM

I prepare and give Snow her breakfast, and then I make my coffee.

.

Fun fact: I practice intermittent fasting, so my first meal of the day is at lunchtime during work, so stay tuned! All I did was drink black coffee to keep me energized throughout the morning.

.

For my office lunch, I'm bringing some steamed siomai and breaded fried porkchop that my Mom made before she left for her job as a teacher.

.

7.30 AM

I get to take a cold shower and have time to groom myself. This boosts my confidence in going to work, as I will be meeting multiple colleagues in the office.

.

I always make sure to wear perfume and style my hair. Before leaving the house, I ensure that everything I need for the day is packed inside my company bag.

.

8.10 AM

I commute to the office on my motorcycle. Before leaving, I always ensure that my motorcycle is in excellent riding condition and has enough gas to minimize the risk of being late and prevent accidents.

.

Put on the helmet, and let's head out! Typically, I have a 15 to 20-minute travel time.

.

As a rider, I primarily use less congested roads, which means I encounter minimal traffic.

8.40 AM

It's already 8:40 a.m., and I parked my motorcycle in the public parking lot near the Emerson building.

.

As a team member at Emerson Global Financial Services - Manila, our workstation is located on the 14th floor of the building. I regularly use the elevator since taking the stairs from the ground floor can be quite challenging. Another interesting fact is that the elevators at the SM Cyber West Ave. Buildings have touchless buttons.

.

8.45 AM

Before heading to my workstation, I stop by the pantry to get a cup of coffee from the free coffee vending machine. I enjoy coffee as it helps me stay focused on my work.

.

To officially begin my shift, I reserve my workstation and update my Accounts Payable Tracker.

.

9.00 AM

My shift officially starts at 9:00 a.m. The first task on my agenda is to check my email for any assignments. I also update my to-do list to stay organized. As an intern, it's essential to consistently practice responsibility and reliability, which contributes to a positive outcome in my daily work and responsibilities.

.

In the mornings, our team frequently gathers to assess our progress, share reminders, and provide additional information

.

We held today's meeting via Microsoft Teams since not everyone was working in the office.

12.00 PM

It's lunchtime! This is the moment when I nourish my body to boost productivity for the rest of the shift. Today, I had lunch in the pantry with my fellow interns from our team.

.

1.00 PM

After lunch, we returned to work and remained productive. During this time, I collaborated with the team, mainly focusing on managing invoices and ensuring the accuracy of their file names for easy tracking

.

This afternoon, our teammates treated us to delicious doughnuts. It's always enjoyable working in the office and having a great time with the team.

6.00 PM

My shift ends at 6:00 in the evening. Before leaving the office, I provide an update to my supervisor and make sure that my workstation is clean.

.

When heading home, I experience a longer commute as the roads become more congested during rush hour, with both employees and students making their way home. It's something we all recognize as a typical aspect of life in the metro.

.

6.30 PM

Before heading home, I usually visit my partner's house, where we spend time playing with our cats.

.

After that, I finally head home to our house and have dinner with my family. It's a great joy to have a day filled with productivity and positivity, which also fuels my passion for and enjoyment of what I do.

.

Everyone, that is all for today. See you around!

Let's embrace positivity and productivity. Let's go!
