JGSPC, along with JG Summit Olefins Corporation (JGSOC), are both parts of JG Summit Petrochemicals Group (JGSPG). Both are petrochemical specialists and are wholly owned subsidiaries of JG Summit Holdings, Inc (JGHI). The organization, a joint venture between Marubeni Corporation and JGHI, was incorporated in 1994. In the same year, it was rewarded pioneer status by the Board of Investments. The construction of the JGSPC Plant, a 250-hectare, world-class, fully-integrated, PEZA-accredited manufacturing complex in Batangas City, started in 1995. Commercial operations finally began in March 1998.
JG Summit Holdings, Inc, made JGSPC its wholly-owned subsidiary in 2006 and plans where made to develop the Philippines' first Naphta Cracker Plant (NCP) while simultaneously expanding the Polymers Plant. In November 2014, commercial operations for the newly expanded JG Summit Petrochemicals Group began.
JG Summit Petrochemicals Group focuses on innovation as the core of its business philosophy. With the right technology, the group aims to promote responsible manufacturing of petrochemical products and build long-term business partnerships.
JGSPC puts a premium on safety and safeguarding the environment. The corporation's manufacturing processes are based on UNIPOL™ PP Process and UNIPOL™ PE Process technology. Both technologies are known for their simplicity, safety, versatility, cost-effectiveness, and environment-friendliness.
With lower pressures and lower temperatures, UNIPOL™ technology eliminates runaway reactions and over-pressurization, making it one of the safest PP and PE polymerization technologies available in the modern world. The absence of solid and liquid effluents released in the environment also makes its gas phase process the cleanest in its class.
JGSPC also offers customer technical service and specialized training of resin properties, their testing and troubleshooting for customer's quality and technical personnel while also assisting clients on their Philippine FDA for food contact and international regulatory requirements.
JGSPC's Corporate Social Responsibility program targets three areas: environment, education, and community development.
Since 1998, JGSPC's flagship program the Abot Kamay initiative in Pinamucan Ibaba and Barangay Simlong, two barangays located in the corporation's complex, has assisted students by distributing school supplies and providing school chairs. The corporation also offers scholarships to deserving students, covering tuition fees, books, uniforms, and offering monthly stipends. Other projects include feeding programs and outreaches.
As a corporation that conforms to ISO 14001:200 standards, JGSPC is committed to minimizing the environmental impacts of its business. The corporation is also engaged in environmental programs that include tree planting, development of man-made reefs, and participating in coastal clean-ups.
JGSPC offers health services through biannual medical missions to stakeholders living around its complex, participates in relief efforts in times of calamities, and constantly holds dialogues with Simlong and Pinamucan Ibaba local governments to determine needs.
