Your role

Laing O'Rourke's 12-week Internship Programme immerses interns in real projects, providing invaluable hands-on experience that builds essential skills and knowledge, ensuring success throughout the summer and beyond. 

A sample of the type of tasks you may complete as a Civil Engineering Intern include:

  • Building professional relationships with a diverse range of people: from clients to designers to other engineering professionals; suppliers, sub-contractors, Joint Venture/Alliance partners and members of the public
  • Building an understanding of how to translate your university learnings into developing and delivering project solutions to the cost, quality, sustainability and schedule expectations
  • Supporting planning, scheduling, supervising construction and completion, monitoring the provision of materials, and working as an effective team member
  • Using Digital Engineering methods to deliver value and certainty through our project delivery
  • Developing an understanding of Laing O’Rourke’s ways of working, and looking for opportunities to further improve them

About you

To be eligible for their Internship Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

  • At the time of application, hold Australian/ New Zealand citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Applicable to WA candidates only - Applications from candidates on visas will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Be in your second last year of university studies (penultimate year), due to graduate in 2025.
  • Be studying a relevant degree to the role advertised, Bachelor of Civil Engineering or a related degree.
