If you are in your second or third year of study at the university studying engineering, engineering science, mathematics, statistics or related qualifications then we want you to apply for an internship with Stantec. This is the perfect opportunity to work across an exciting and broad range of projects!

What we provide

Scope of work

  • Introduction to hydraulic and structural planning and design of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. Typical projects include:
    • pipelines
    • reservoirs
    • culverts
    • pumpstations
    • wastewater storage tanks
    • stormwater retention dams
    • storm damage recovery works
    • road drainage. 
  • Storm and flooding protection infrastructure planning and design.
  • Introduction to project management of design and construction projects.
  • Introduction to water and wastewater treatment planning and design. This includes process and infrastructure.
  • Use of hydraulic modelling software (water, wastewater and stormwater applications) to conceptually evaluate pipe networks and flooding risk.
  • Use of Autodesk software (2D AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infraworks) to digitally produce and work on engineering plans.
  • Evaluation of large data sets of information and providing short reports of the data analysis undertaken.

Who can apply

To be eligible to apply you must:

  • Be in your second or third year of study
  • Currently studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) or Bachelor or Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Diploma
    Preferably have a full clean current driving licence
  • Able to commence work from mid-November 2023 to mid-February 2024 (Flexible)
